“NO DOUBT”. A repeated phrase in the 1990’s R&B song ‘No Diggity, No Doubt’.
“NO DOUBT”. The name of a popular 2000’s music band with lead singer Gwen Stephani.
“NO DOUBT”. The phrase I repeated to myself many times as I looked in the mirror the day that I decided to start this blog, LIFTED WOMAN.
God had placed this blog on my heart a couple of months prior. He let me know that it was time to combine my passion for writing, my passion for reading (any and everything but particularly God’s word), and the wisdom I’ve gained through recent life experiences.
I ignored God’s voice at first. I even argued with God after acknowledging His instructions. Can you believe it? I actually argued with God. I had so many doubts. So much fear. But God being the awesome, wonderful Father He is, He gave me exactly what and who I needed at exactly the right time. He’s an ‘On Time God’, right? It was as if the scriptures found me, not the other way around:
Me: But God, I can’t do this.
Him: You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Philippians 4:13
Me: I don’t even know the first thing about starting a blog.
Him: Trust in me with all thine heart. In all thy ways acknowledge me, and I will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6
Me: But what if I fail?
Him: I am within you. You will not fail. Psalm 46:5. All things work together for the good of those who love me and who are called to my purpose. Romans 8:28
Me: Lord, I’m so worried. I love to write but sharing my thoughts so publicly and being so vulnerable is scary.
Him: Be anxious for nothing. Philippians 4:6. Cast all your anxiety on me because I care for you. 1 Peter 5:7
Me: This is a huge task, Lord. It’s very overwhelming.
Him: But for those who hope in the Lord, I will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will be walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31. So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Me: What if people don’t “like” it?
Him: (The Apostle Paul) Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10
God surrounded me with loved ones who saw my true character and were supportive of this vision that He allowed me to see. Some of them, He put in my life just in time—before the 2017 ended. These individuals, combined with what God spoke to me as I prayed and read the scriptures highlighted above were just the confirmation I needed to begin LIFTED WOMAN.
In essence, LIFTED WOMAN is exactly what I have needed when I needed it the most. I pray that it’s what someone else needs as we all continue to run this Christian race. Like a swig of water, a pat on the back, or a “wooo-hoooo, you got this”, as you run a marathon, I pray that LIFTED WOMAN is encouraging and enlightening. It is a blog meant to encourage and uplift all people as we read the Word of God, reflect on it, and reason on how to apply the Word of God to our everyday lives.
LIFTED WOMAN is a testimony of God’s love for us and a reminder that He gave us all we need (the instructions, tools, and people) to live a beautiful Earthly life (John 10:10) as we await our permanent dwelling place in Heaven—- our home.
So here I am. Putting faith over fear. Having NO DOUBT in God and His plan for my life. (Jeremiah 29:11) Sit back and grab a Bible—no matter how worn or gently used it may be. Let’s learn, let’s reflect, and let’s talk about God together.
Remember to keep your head, your eyes, and your spirit LIFTED. You are loved!

And my favorite childhood song “Keep your head to the Sky”-Earth, Wind and Fire…the elements of the world. (Master told me one day, I’d find peace in everyway-And in search for the clue, wrong things I was bound to do-Keep my head to the sky, for the clouds to tell me why-As I grew and with strength, Master kept me as I repent.-And he said “keep your head to the sky” – He gave me the will to free-purpose to LIVE is REALITY-and when I found myself, living alone, chances came to make me strong-step right up! and be a man, cause you need FAITH to understand-So I am saying for you to HEAR, KEEP YOUR HEAD IN FAITHS ATMOSPHERE- KEEP YOUR HEAD TO THE SKY). MY WORDs I LIVE BY….Your Aunt, Love you now and forever
